In Korea, there’s a tradition where on your 1st birthday, there’s a display of things on a table like money, yarn, rice, books, pencils, calculator. Each of these items resemble something that you will be in the future. Money means riches, yarn means a long life, rice means something I don’t remember, books mean smart, pencils mean good writer, calculator means good at math. And obviously I went for the food. That explains so much.

Cleaning my room right now and I went downstairs with 5 empty peanut butter jars. The parents looked at me walking by with my 5 friends for a second and went back on with their lives like this is a total casual thing to for me to do. Time to reevaluate my role in society.. There must be more to me than this peanut butter obsessed jar hoarder….
