I miss gym time during cross country season. Senior year, I had ultimate frisbee cause that required the least physical movement from me at 7:40am. Unfortunately, this PE class was held outside, in the awkward cold stage of September and October. My friends and I didn’t really do anything since it was cold and too early to run and jump around for a piece of plastic. So our gym teacher warned us that he was going to “punish” us by making us run instead. I took the liberty to challenge him on how many laps we had to run. Without knowing that most of us were cross country runners for the school, he told us that we had to run a lap. Which, to a non runner might seem miserable since that is the standard requirement for the state of Connecticut to test their students on to see how healthy they are during the beginning of the year.

Bitch, please. We ran three miles a day for practice along with other rigorous running exercises. Running 1 mile (4 times around the track that surrounded the football field where we played ultimate frisbee) was nothing. Running 1 mile was like asking Paula Deen to make you a butter stick with chocolate glazed over. Running 1 mile was like asking HyunA to dance like she’s the shit even though she’s not. Running 1 mile was like asking the Asians at my school to continue talking in their language in the quite study area. Running 1 mile was like asking me to recite the greek alphabet forwards and backwards.

So instead of playing ultimate frisbee in the early morning cold, we ran one mile, increased our abilities for team practice after school, and went in early and enjoyed the rest of our period “free”. But honestly, what I miss the most are the days when I didn’t have to stay in school from 8-8 worrying about the stupid exam for an electives class. Seriously. Why am I stressing over this electives class right now so that it won’t harm my overall GPA and ruin my chances with the school’s scholarship opportunities =__= I hate this school.
